Dentures are one option for missing teeth. Luckily, they are not the only option. If your dentures are bothering you or you are looking to try a different solution, check out these options for tooth loss!
Dental Implants The most common alternative to dentures is dental implants. Dental implants have a post that is surgically implanted into the jawbone. The implant post is then topped with a crown replacement tooth that will resemble your natural teeth. Dental implants are not removable, so you may find them more comfortable than dentures. Overdentures Overdentures are typically for patients that are missing all or most of your teeth. Unlike dentures that are held in place with adhesive, overdentures are anchored in place using dental implants or remaining teeth. Overdentures are more stable and secure than typical dentures. Dental BridgeIf only one tooth is missing, you may be eligible for a dental bridge. A dental bridge is held in place by anchoring it to the neighboring teeth. However, healthy teeth may need to be filed down during this procedure to fit the neighboring crowns.
