What’s the deal with the high price of dental implants?

First of all the dental implant procedure is not a “one and done” type of procedure. You can expect to see our dental office several times before the procedure is completed. Treatment planning your case includes a 3 dimensional x-ray which allows us to properly diagnose the condition of your teeth, gums, and jawbone to determine if you are a good candidate for implants.

After the planning phase is completed and agreed upon, the surgery phase begins. We will drill a hole in the bone and place the dental implant. If necessary a temporary tooth is created to fill the empty space during the healing period. The healing period can take between 2-6 months based on your situation. Most importantly the bone and gum tissue needs to heal properly around the implant. We are now ready to create the tooth structure that sits on top of the dental implant. This is called the “restorative phase” and we need to create a tooth that matches the teeth around it in terms of shape and color. Once completed you now have a beautiful looking crown. So expect a fee for the surgical phase of around $2,500 and expect a separate fee for the restorative phase around $2,500. We can get some pre-estimates from your insurance company to see if any of these costs are covered by insurance. Our admin team will help with this.
