 Gum disease is often ignored by people and if left unchecked it could turn into serious damage to bones and tissues of the oral cavity. Plain and simple gum disease usually starts with minor bleeding and inflammation of gums called Gingivitis. It is the result of bacterial infections along the gum line (a colorless plaque that forms on the teeth). Periodontitis requires immediate attention and forms spaces or pockets below the gum line. 

Causes of gum disease are poor oral hygiene, smoking and chewing tobacco, hormonal changes, poor nutrition and even systemic issues with heart disease have been linked to gum disease. If you see any changes to your gum health don’t hesitate to call or email us:
